Dunedin is nestled on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and is also the “Home of Honeymoon Island” the #1 State Park in Florida. The Island boasts clear emerald green waters with baby powder like sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. For the avid biker or walker there are miles of nature trails through the island just waiting to be explored. Visitors can swim, fish, and snorkel Kayak, and Paddle Board in the warm waters of the Gulf or picnic while they enjoy the beautiful scenery.
 
Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island, its neighbor, are a step back in time into a world of old Florida beaches before condos and hotels were developed. Both these islands are all natural and unspoiled by any development. Caledesi Island is truly an unspoiled experience of old Florida with only a ranger station, marina, bbqs, biking trials and bathrooms. The island is accessible by boat or ferry. Dunedin is truly a hidden gem located just north of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater areas.
 
Known for its eclectic and fun small town atmosphere, with yet a lively and vibrant downtown area. Dunedin is also voted “The Best Little Walking Town in America,” Dunedin is a fun family centric destination that hosts celebrations, festivals and street fairs year round. The Dunedin Downtown Market features fresh produce, plants, eggs, meats, cheese, honey, baked goods, soaps, candles, lunch bites and other great items. Live music performed each day the Market is held.
 
Spend time in the Historic Downtown shopping, enjoying fantastic dining and dancing to live music, strolling through waterfront parks or enjoy the hopping Craft Brewing scene.

Dunedin continues to boast a rich Scottish heritage, so don’t be surprised to hear bagpipes or spot the locals wearing a kilt. Dunedin is truly a gem in the Tampa Bay Area. Visit the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, the Dunedin History Museum. Play Golf or Boat from the Dunedin Marina. The Dunedin Marina is located in the heart of downtown Dunedin and contains 180 wet slips. The marina harbors vessels from 18 feet to nearly 70 feet. Within the marina is a public fishing Pier that you can either catch a fish or a sunset. The marina is a prime sunset viewing location. The views as the sun sets here can be spectacular.
 
Within the marina the are commercial boats that you can go out on a dolphin cruise or charter a sailboat/fishing boat. The marina also contains the historic Boat Club clubhouse. This building has been a destination for boaters for over 90 years and is in use to this day. The marina also has a ferry to shuttle you to Clearwater Beach!
 
Dunedin isn’t short on sports and athletics. As the Home to the Spring Training of the Toronto Blue Jays, Dunedin offers visitors an unforgettable Major League experience in addition to all of its fantastic cultural, culinary, and artistic wonders.

Dunedin has become so dog friendly that is has earned the name of “Dogedin” with so many dog friendly restaurants, store owners, breweries and pubs about that your little friend is welcome almost everywhere. Dunedin Parks & Recreation offers 29 parks and over 350 acres of green space dedicated to public use for hiking, biking, playing and picnicking. Dunedin’s City parks are free to visit and enjoy.
